Youtravel.com is an
easy-to-use travel agent company offering exclusive online access to booking hotels
and resorts around the Mediterranean and others worldwide. Accommodation ranges
from family-friendly options, to five-star all-inclusive resorts.
Youtravel.com was launched in October 2006
by travel entrepreneur John Kent, largely regarded as the pioneer of the
accommodation-only sector after he set up Medhotels.com in 2002. Youtravel.com
is one of the key players in the accommodation-only sector. It is a truly
international company and has operations in the UK, Germany, Greece, Italy,
Sweden, Ireland, Norway and France.
In mid-2010 Youtravel.com announced a new
major shareholder, His Highness Sheikh Tahnoon Bin Saeed Al Nahayan, a member of
the royal family of Abu Dhabi, ensuring that the group is funded appropriately
as it moves into its fourth full-year as the UK’s leading independent bed-bank.

Youtravel.com features more than 3,000 resort hotels
in popular destinations throughout Europe – including the Balearic Islands, the
Canaries, mainland Spain, Italy, Croatia, Greece, Malta, Turkey, Cyprus – as
well as in Egypt, Morocco, Tunisia, Florida, Dubai and the Caribbean.
Youtravel.com offers the opportunity to book a wide range of products
via its site from traditional riads in Marrakech or Florida villas through to
three and four-star resort properties and world-leading luxury five-star hotels
with board options from self-catering to all-inclusive.
Youtravel.com has
expanded its product portfolio by more than 30 per cent in the past 12 months thanks
to the introduction of new European and long-haul destinations. The growth in
the portfolio reflects the maturing of the company in its fourth-year of
trading.
Youtravel.com acts as agent for its
customers and trade partners and also adheres to Abta guidelines.
Business
update: August 2010
Accommodation specialist youtravel.com has
reported that it has seen an improvement of more than 1 million euro in its
third year of trading.
Group managing director Graham Nichols
said: “We are delighted with this result, to make a profit in our third year in
this challenging trading environment is a huge achievement. The 2009 group
results (to year end October) showed excellent progress overall from previous
years as we continued to grow turnover and manage our cost base.
“In 2010 this progress has continued and,
despite the impact of the volcanic ash saga on the whole of the travel
industry, the group is on course to make a profit of €1-€2m this year. This is, of course, after making the
appropriate TOMS VAT payments as principal.”
